This song is great, but I don’t really like this movie. Though I’m pretty sure Fred Astaire is the (albeit deceased) love of my life, I can’t forgive his character for treating Judy Garland’s Hannah Brown so very terribly. Aside from him being Fred Astaire, there’s nothing attractive about his character. He’s domineering, he puts her down, he tries to change her: he’s a jerk. I would have stuck with Peter Lawford and told Anne Miller to go to H-E-double hockey sticks.
